3. European minds

The Meme

On Sunday, Twitter user @powerbottomdad1 posted a Google Maps screenshot showing the time it would take to drive from New York to Los Angeles, along with the caption “the European mind cannot comprehend this.” They seemed to be implying that unlike Americans, Europeans can only dream of living somewhere so vast that it takes more than 40 hours to drive across the country.



The memes that came in response were largely Europeans disagreeing with @powerbottomdad1, or joking about the things that Americans, conversely, cannot comprehend.

2. Burning Man

The Meme

Attendees at this year's Burning Man festival, the annual gathering of insufferable people, found themselves stranded in the desert after heavy rain and flooding transformed the site into a mud pit. Celebrities like Diplo and Chris Rock were there, among other usual suspects, and the whole scenario was ripe for jokes.

1. Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet

The Meme

Actor and alleged heartthrob Timothée Chalamet is now apparently dating Kylie Jenner, if recently published footage of them kissing at a Beyoncé show is anything to go by. Also, Timmy smokes cigarettes, but that’s not as important as the first part. This momentous collision of two famous, young and hot people has set the internet ablaze.

Maybe this is all promotion for Timothée’s “Wonka” movie coming out later this year, which he can’t officially take part in because of the actors' strike. Or, they’re just in love and like going to concerts together, and the paparazzi always happen to be there. Or, it’s staged and everyone on Twitter is correct in pointing this out. Who knows!
