Huawei has released the January 2023 software update for the Huawei Nova Y90 and Y70 smartphones in the global market, and this firmware clearly improves these phones’ security aspects for a better user experience.

Both Huawei Nova Y90 and Y70 runs EMUI 12 out of the box but it would be interesting if the company could have sent EMUI 13 instead of the security patch. Speaking of which, no one knows, when Huawei will rollout EMUI 13 for global users for the time being.

Coming back to the rollout, January 2023 security update for Huawei Nova Y90 and Nova Y70 comes with EMUI version 12.0.1.177 and EMUI 12.0.1.202. This update is suggested to install on all of the devices sold marketed outside of China and will appear in batches.

We suggest the corresponding users look into the settings > then open System & updates, followed by a Software update, and then tap on CHECK FOR UPDATES.  You can download the latest firmware also from the My Huawei app.

You should know that the update won’t erase your personal data but it is suggested for you back up any important data before updating the device. On the other hand, the package will be deleted automatically once the installation succeeds.

Thanks to the tipster for this amazing information, Masterpiece.

Huawei FreeBuds 5 is coming and soon it will meet the consumers, of course, the plans for this are hidden but the latest inputs will help us to understand its soon-to-release schedule.

According to the details shared by tipster classmateguan, Huawei FreeBuds 5 will launch soon and will continue to wear a semi-in-ear design, which is a marquee style of the earbuds pair. The tipster predicts that March could be the month to bring these earbuds out in the open. It’s possible that the recently leaked FreeBuds Pro 2+ may also share the stage with FreeBuds 5.

It’s been over 2 years since the launch of Huawei FreeBuds 4 earbuds and the tech company, in the time between, has released a new model – FreeBuds 5i. However, that’s just a filler, while the customers have been waiting for a mainstream pair of earbuds.

As for now, we don’t have the specs of the next FreeBuds lineup but we can surely know more about its predecessor.

Huawei FreeBuds 5 is coming

Huawei FreeBuds 4 brings an open-fit active noise cancellation 2.0 technology.  It has adaptive ear-matching technology to detect your in-ear shape and how you wear the earbuds. Then it smartly selects a variety of noise-cancellation presets.

Huawei FreeBuds 4 comes in two aesthetically awesome colors – Ceramic White and Silver Frost. These earbuds are light and each of them weighs just 4.1 grams. It supports gestures and tap support, tap twice to answer and end calls, play/pause music, previous/next song or enable voice assistant. It has a swipe up and down to increase or decrease volume.

Huawei FreeBuds 4 include a special touch of tap and hold, which allows you to enable or disable noise cancellation. This pair of earbuds bring a big battery, it will boast 22 hours of battery with a charging case and ANC off. While you will get 4 hours from FreeBuds only.

In the meantime, Huawei keeps on sending security patches, optimizations, and other important performance upgrades over the OTA method directly to the devices.

Meanwhile, Huawei has not released the February 2023 EMUI security patch update for smartphones but it may soon be delivered to the corresponding eligible models.

Why it’s important?

Security patches are important and Huawei releases such upgrades for smartphones to implement high safety measures to guard the data and fight vulnerabilities. Such updates roll out monthly and quarterly sessions.

Specifically, it fixes an unauthorized access vulnerability (CVE-2022-48286) in the multi-screen collaboration module, which could have affected the confidentiality of the files that you are sharing over the air.

There are two medium-level vulnerabilities fixed for Bluetooth modules, which could exploit user data. CVE-2022-48295 addresses the fix of authentification of the IHwAntiMalPlugin API, which could let malware attack your Huawei device.

Next comes the Huawei fix for permission management vulnerability in the SystemUI module, which may cause users to receive misleading broadcasts from malicious apps for storage exploitations.

Below you can check all of the CVE counts and codes mentioned in the February 2023 security bulletin.

Critical:

  • CVE-2022-22088, CVE-2022-41674

High:

  • CVE-2022-20456, CVE-2022-20461, CVE-2022-20489, CVE-2022-20490, CVE-2022-20492, CVE-2022-20493, CVE-2022-20494, CVE-2023-20905, CVE-2023-20913, CVE-2023-20915, CVE-2023-20920, CVE-2023-20921, CVE-2022-33255, CVE-2022-32635

Huawei will build the industry’s first digital robot with China’s National Pharmaceutical Group, Sinopharm for the pharmaceutical industry. This is a brand new progress made by the Chinese tech maker to advance its growth in digital robot technologies.

In 2019, Sinopharm began to explore digital robot technology. Several subsidiaries have implemented more than 200 business processes. There are problems such as scattered business scenarios, the inability to share robot resources, and inconsistent business processes. In order to solve some problems in the early testing, open up resource sharing, unify and optimize business processes, and realize the digitalization of deep integration of operations and business.

In 2022, Sinopharm joined hands with Huawei’s digital robot team and Huawei partners. This partnership focuses on key points such as customers, data, and business elements, sorted out the business process, and planned and built the first digital robot competence center platform in the domestic pharmaceutical industry.

Relying on the large-scale application capabilities of Huawei’s WeAutomate digital robots and mature product capabilities, Sinopharm has built a digital robot capability center platform that can meet the automation application needs of thousands of subsidiaries of the group.

After the launch, all subsidiaries of Sinopharm Holdings can share common tech in business processes, and share digital robot resources in a unified and intensive manner. In addition, the Sinopharm Digital Robotics Competence Center can fully support the group’s common situations and the personalized scenarios of the branch companies.

The common scene process is uniformly constructed by the headquarters and can be used by all branch companies. On the other hand, the custom scene process is customized and shared by the branch companies.

In the future, Huawei’s WeAutomate digital robot will continue to provide technological advantages and help Sinopharm to promote more general scenarios of digital robots to all sub-companies. On the basis of realizing the sharing of digital robot resources, it will simultaneously leverage the innovation capabilities of branch companies to meet business needs.

The process of implementing Huawei’s digital robots is also a process of normalizing and standardizing the general scenarios of branch companies, which promotes the optimization and unification of Sinopharm’s business processes. After the launch of the Sinopharm Digital Robotics Competence Center, the efficiency of the online robot business scenarios can be increased by up to 25 times, and the average efficiency can be increased by more than 10 times, effectively releasing digital momentum.

Sinopharm Holdings Co., Ltd. was established in Shanghai in January 2003 and listed in Hong Kong in September 2009. It includes two A-share listed companies, Sinopharm Group Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and Sinopharm Accord Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., with a total of more than a thousand subsidiaries.

Now it has become a leading distributor and retailer of pharmaceuticals, healthcare products, and medical devices in China, as well as a leading supply chain service provider. Sinopharm ranks 22nd among Fortune China’s Top 500 in 2021.

According to the information coming from Weibo, HarmonyOS 3.1 has been leaked in an internal code of a device. An image shared by a tipster suggests that the internal code of HarmonyOS 3.1 belongs to a new Huawei device.

Despite having no confirmation, we could assume that this could be the upcoming Huawei P60 series. Also, we are not expecting big features upgrade with this software.

However, we could see this release as a bug fix and optimizations, while adding flagship-oriented additions to the Huawei P60 lineup.
