EMUI 9.0 is now available for the Huawei P20/P20 Pro and Mate 10/10 Pro [Global Rollout]

[Global Release] Today, Huawei officially announced the availability of EMUI 9.0 for its Mate 10 and Huawei P20 smartphone series.

The EMUI 9.0 is started rolling out globally. If you own one of these devices (below), EMUI 9.0 will be with you very soon. If you want to check for the update manually, you can check for it by going into Settings > Systems > Software update.

The EMUI 9.0 is Huawei’s custom Android P-based operating system (OS) developed to “Enable a Quality Life” with improved performance and new features that will enable an enhanced and intuitive user experience to customers.

· Natural and immersive

With people spending more time in the digital world, EMUI 9.0 provides a simplified design inspired by nature. The design applies scenes of nature in everything from color selections to default caller portraits. Combining imagery of hillside reflections, ice, and rocks, EMUI 9.0 delivers a truly immersive visual experience that is also easy on the eyes. Users can also immerse themselves in another layer of natural experience with ambient natural sounds like birds chirping and flowing water in ringtones and alarm alerts.

The new EMUI 9.0 update supports a brand new mode of navigation – gestures. Instead of tapping buttons, users can intuitively control their device with simple swipes. HiVision: With HiVision, users can easily query the Internet for more information about objects of interest by simply pointing the camera towards it. HiTouch: Enabled by pressing and holding two fingers on an image, HiTouch lets users easily query online retailers and eCommerce platforms and shop for items. The feature can recognize more than 120 million items from more than 200 eCommerce platforms and the official online stores of nearly 100 brands.

· Enhanced Productivity via Improved Easy Projection

With the HUAWEI Mate 10 Series, Huawei brought Easy Projection to consumers, enabling them to conveniently connect their devices with an external display for increasing productivity. For EMUI 9.0, Huawei evolved the feature with a wireless upgrade. Users running EMUI 9.0 now have access to One-Click Projection, and Highlight and Capture on Big Screen, which let users to easily add highlights to and capture content projected on larger screens such as a TV.

· HUAWEI Share: In addition to transferring files between Huawei mobile and Huawei PC, users can now use HUAWEI Share to send files to a Bluetooth-enabled printer4;

· Backup: EMUI 9.0 supports new ways for users to backup their important files. Besides HUAWEI Cloud, users may now store their backup on an SD Card, USB drive or a NAS (Network Attached Storage);

· WPS with HiAI: The WPS productivity suite leverages HiAI capabilities to enhance its features. EMUI 9.0 automatically adjusts the alignment of documents and can convert images and hardcopies into editable digital copies.

Huawei P60 series could show up at MWC 2023

Huawei has finalized the design of the P60 series and the flagship could appear at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023 at the earliest, which is piece of amazing news.

Input coming from different Weibo tipsters suggests that Huawei has confirmed the design of the Huawei P60 series. It is the first camera module that has a giant ring in the middle followed by a camera on the top and a periscope camera placed on the bottom side.

These tipsters have seen the test model, and the company is likely to keep the below-featured camera system, unlike the one that surfaced recently. The camera bump is rectangular and houses all of the sensors inside, making it a hybrid version of P50 and P40 devices.

MWC 2023:

Another tipster suggested that the Huawei P60 series revealing could occur at MWC 2023, which will be a surprise. However, the tipster insists that it could be the earliest launch attempt that the Chinese tech maker may choose to go with.

Xiaomi took 50 million Huawei smartphone users: President

After the events of the U.S. ban, Huawei had to reduce its capacity of building new smartphones, which result in low yield and sales, and now, Xiaomi claims that it took over 50 million of Huawei’s users.

During the Xiaomi Investment Day, Lu Weibing, President of Xiaomi Group said that Huawei has lost over 80 million smartphone users, of which, Xiaomi took over 50 million.

This is quite a big statement made by the head of the Chinese phone maker as Huawei was forced to leave the market due to the restrictions on manufacturing.

After not meeting the market requirements the share of Huawei’s smartphone market declined severely in both the Chinese and global markets. While other smartphone makers are the ones that got most of the benefits.

Xiaomi and Huawei

From the rest, Apple took over 20 million users and Honor grabbed 10 million, which accounts for an overall 80 million Huawei users.

According to the data revealed by Canalys, the global smartphone market ranked Samsung first and Apple second, which has increased by 22 percent and 19 percent respectively. While Xiaomi declined to 13 percent.

Aside from Apple and Samsung, other smartphone maker has declined. On this matter, Xiaomi’s president said that the decline in his firm is related to various reasons such as currency depreciation, chips from shortage to surplus, and intensified competition, the global mobile phone market will decline by 12% in 2022, of which the Chinese market will decline by 13%.

Why not?

It was an opportunity for all of the smartphone companies with an open opportunity to grab Huawei’s market share and it fell directly into their lap without doing anything.
