According to the data released by China’s CINNO research, Huawei shipped approx 1.44 million units of foldable display devices. The Chinese tech maker completed this task with a sales growth rate of 132% year over year. However, its market share decreased by 2.8 percent, while still covering over 50% of the overall Chinese market.

This sale count is contributed by the strong sales of the P50 Pocket and Mate X2 Collector’s Edition. Since its launch in December 2021, the Huawei P50 Pocket has been the single-season sales champion of China’s foldable phones market for three consecutive quarters in Q1, Q2, and Q3 of 2022. While the Pocket S jumped to the top sales in the fourth quarter.

Samsung comes second with a market share of 22.8%, a year-on-year decrease of 9.7 percentage points, Samsung has the largest decline within a year.

OPPO ranked third with a 7.7% market share, up 4.3 percent year over year. Coming to the last three Xiaomi, Vivo, and Honor with a market share of 6.6%, 5.8%, and 5% respectively.

Overall sales of foldable smartphones in China have increased by 144% year over year (YoY) with 2.83 million units shipment throughout the year. This is a massive growth among customers and it continues to rise over quarters.

HarmonyOS 3 is the latest Huawei operating system version and it brings a variety of new additions to the software including a better user interface and optimized performance.

Initially, Huawei began testing the software in closed beta for top flaghip devices such as Huawei P50, Mate 40 series, and other prominent foldable.

Since it is a roadmap, Huawei has scheduled HarmonyOS 3 upgrade plan until 2023. This is quite an extensive roadmap and we’ll explore it right away. However, by January 2023, Huawei has covered so many devices with HarmonyOS 3.

Early press renders coming from Winfuture shows us the design schematics of the Samsung Galaxy S23 and it’s just a copy-paste design. Yes, it’s an old-age design with a vertical camera arrangement identical to Galaxy S22 Ultra+ a bit from Galaxy S22 standard version.

The rest of the phone remains plane and there are no design changes made to the phone as compared to its predecessor. This is what we can call old age and it seems like this South Korean company is enjoying the full prowess of the supply chain and support of the Android ecosystem.

On the other hand, phone makers such as Huawei are trying their best to craft new and interesting designs for consumers.

The past generation including P20, P30, P40, and P50 are prime examples of these changes in design. Meanwhile, the upcoming P60 series will also have significant changes in appearance for both the rear case and the camera module.

I mean look at the beauty of this smartphone, even after getting attacked by the U.S. Huawei is heavily investing in its R&D on smartphones but Samsung remains quite behind in the race.

What will it offer:

There’s not much to reveal from the specs side but Samsung Galaxy S23 could equip with a 6.1-inch display, followed by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.

So, there are some specs on paper, since Samsung’s lazy innovation on processors such as Exynos failed to provide power for the consumers. The phone maker has decided to solely move with Qualcomm.

What Samsung is doing?

As I mentioned above, Samsung is just living in an advantageous position in the smartphone market in the absence of Huawei. The proof of that lies in these renders below.

Yes, it’s an early conclusion because there’s a Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra version. But CAD renders from Onleaks also suggest that Galaxy S23 Ultra will be identical to S22 Ultra.

According to the information, January 2023 EMUI security update brings fixes for 4 issues in critical condition, 24 high, and 7 medium-level vulnerabilities. On the other hand, the security patch also includes fixes CVEs that were a part of the previous updates.

Let’s jump to the story, Huawei first drew a line for FreeBuds 5 to launch alongside Huawei Pocket S but the company internally pushed the launch event. Last November, a report revealed that Huawei will launch FreeBuds 5 in the same year. However, it didn’t happen at that time either.

After all, Huawei Freebuds 5 has been delayed for too long, and a new one should be released this year. But the question is when?

In 2021, Huawei launched FreeBuds in May and the company expanded the FreeBuds 4 in the global market. Since we had an entire year ahead. Huawei rolled out the FreeBuds 5i in 2022, there are a number of aesthetic upgrades that we’ve seen in this mini version.

Despite a missing confirmation on the launch date, Huawei FreeBuds 5 should get a booking alongside the Huawei P60 series. This would be a perfect occasion to unveil this pair of earbuds.
