Huawei and some other tech giants have jointly released a new rule that can help with app-shaking issues. Alongside the solution, the new rule will also improve the user experience with the third-party applications on the device.

To those who are unaware, app shake is a very convenient feature to use. With a simple shaking gesture on your phone, you can launch any app and start using it without touching the home screen. All you have to do is allow some settings for the particular app.

App-Shaking Issue

So far, the App shake function remained at the top of the feature section. It has provided a rich experience to consumers and has enhanced the way of using an application on a smart gadget.

Although in addition to many positive roles of the respective function, there are some negative points as well. Sometimes, the shake function becomes too sensitive for a few third-party apps. As a result, the apps get open even at a slight jerk or movement.

Moreover, it automatically leads to the advertisement page. Thus, users often get disturbed by such activities on their handsets due to the app-shaking function.

A solution to App Shaking Issue

To end the app-shaking issues Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, Alibaba, the China Academy of Information and Technology and many other companies come together and formulated a new rule.

This rule comes under the “App User Rights Protection Evaluation Specification Part 7: Deception, Misleading and Compulsive Behaviour” (T/TAF 078.7-2022)

According to this rule, tech makers will make amendments to phone manufacturing. Consequently, the shaking function will be timed for 15m/s2. Meanwhile, the rotation angle of the screen should be at least 35 degrees. The shaking action should only take place for 3 seconds.

The rule officially came into existence on November 25, 2022. Apart from these tweaks, there aren’t many details about the respective rule and its specifications. However, how the new segments will use and run users’ data and security aspects is still to question to answer.

Let’s see what new changes will the giant manufacturers will bring in their devices in the time ahead.

Android 13 beta and its emerging troubles have once again become a hot topic of discussion among users. As per the input revealings, the latest Android 13 beta is now creating Wallpaper colors and styles issues.

Recently, a Pixel 6 Pro user discovered that the newest Android 13 Beta update is consistently making some issues with the wallpaper system. The user reports that after installing the beta iteration, the wallpaper colors and styles keep changing.

Notably, Android 13 has already skipped the “lock in” wallpapers ability for some reason. And as of now, the latest Android 13 beta continues to change wallpaper colors and styles every time the phone sleeps.

The user further explains that before Android 13, he was able to set the wallpaper colors accordingly. These colors stand out on the phone till the user itself makes an effort to change them. However, the Android 13 beta has welcomed the respective wallpaper issue on his handset.

Aside from the major issue, the user has also dragged our attention to Android 12. Even so, Android 12 was the first operating system to introduce Material You, the issue never appeared with its beta or the stable version.

It’s not the wallpaper, but the colors and styles

To be specific, the user mentions that it’s not the wallpaper, but the icons and screen texts on the home screen that are changing frequently. Consequently, it has become a matter of annoyance more than worry.

On the flip side, it become a topic of confusion. Many users believe that this could be the benefit of Material You which has been revamped with Android 13. Although, the affected person denies the statements.

To clear the confusion, the user further explains that with Android 13, the color changes and sets to the first color scheme accordingly. This usually happens after restarting the device. But, here the issue is occurring throughout the day.

Besides, the wallpaper and lock screen image remains the same. Yet, the color resets to the first color scheme.

Android 13 Beta Wallpaper issues

Same issue for the last three months!

It’s worth mentioning that three months ago, a user described a similar issue with Android 13 Beta 1. Eventually, the wallpaper colors reset and often shift between light and dark modes. It seems like, the issue didn’t get repaired since then.

Probably, the bug could be in the Material You system. After Android 12, the wallpaper and other color-changing scenarios have been locked in the Material You feature. While the addition has been quite attractive in the initial days, looks like it has become a huge headache for users at present. However, as the user has denied the Material You concept, we cannot trigger this feature.

Many issues with Android 13 Beta!

Up to this point, we come across several Android  13 beta issues that have surrounded Pixel device owners. The recent one was the app switcher bug that resulted in the abnormal working or freezing of the apps.

While users continue to face some or the other issue with the latest beta rollout, Google hasn’t taken any step in this aspect. Perhaps, the company would be working on eliminating these issues from the stable version.

Android 13 beta has shown various bugs before the stable upgrade. Even after several fixes and improvements in the changelog, the firmware continues to create problems for users. We hope that we will get a bug-free and more reliant system in the upcoming stable build.

Speaking of the November 2022 HarmonyOS security patch, the latest edition resolves more than 44 issues in the system. These include 1 critical, 15 high, and 27 medium levels of vulnerabilities.

So far, these vulnerabilities are responsible for system lags, buffering, unstable Bluetooth connections, and so on. Hence, to experience a responsive and buffer-free smartphone, make sure that you install the latest security patch.

November 2022 security patch – Issues

The November 2022 HarmonyOS security patch mainly works on the Kernel, System, Applications, and Framework of the device. Besides, it also enlists third-party vulnerabilities and resolves them for the HarmonyOS-affected builds.

Let’s understand these issues one by one.

HarmonyOS November 2022 issues

Kernel

In this field, the newly-released patch takes care of the display functions. It patches the abnormal status of the display modules and fixes the API access. On the other hand, it also strengthens Bluetooth connectivity.

Adding to this, the company has mended the third-party filtration and stopped them to start frequently. As a result, there will be no affection for user confidentiality.

Application

  • Medium: CVE-2022-44560, CVE-2022-44561

November 2022 HarmonyOS patch fixes the launcher module and its redirection vulnerability. Moreover, it has made arbitrary widgets and shortcuts more effective for the system.

  • Medium: CVE-2022-44559, CVE-2022-44558, CVE-2022-44555, CVE-2022-44552

Last but not least, the patch works on better framework conditions. It enhances the lock screen module so that it may not affect the system’s availability. Further, it optimizes the DDMP and ODMP modules and treats the unavailability of these services.

Affected version:

Notably, these issues were arising in the HarmonyOS 2.0, HarmonyOS 2.1, and HarmonyOS 3.0.0 versions. Thus, if you are having any of these builds in your gadget then you must download the November 2022 patch as it arrives in the notification panel.

Huawei Mate 40 Pro is one of the high-end smartphones of the company and recently obtained the latest HarmonyOS 3.0.0.126 beta. Unfortunately, the new firmware has not worked effectively and gave a huge headache to Huawei Mate 40 Pro users with several display issues.

Following HarmonyOS 3.0.0.126 upgrade, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro smartphone suddenly started functioning abnormally. A user reports that the phone becomes very stuck while performing the unlock function. Besides, the screen is directly offset and does not responds efficiently.

Also, the user describes that after opening any application, the swiping up and returning is very slow. Overall, there were continuous stoppages while performing any action on the display panel.

Another user explains that on executing background functions, the screen abruptly freezes. Consequently, this freezing is a huge hurdle between screen recording and screenshot actions. This all things are happening just after the installation of HarmonyOS 3.0.0.126 firmware.

Huawei Mate 40 Pro display issues

Below you can check the issues in detail

  • Unlocking the phone becomes very tough
  • The screen is not responding effectively
  • The negative screen does not work and denies to drawn out
  • Mate 40 Pro enters and exits the screen-saver interface after pressing the unlock button
  • The phone screen freezes at the beginning and continues even after the deletion of a few apps.

It is worth mentioning that HarmonyOS 3.0.0.126 beta version mainly focused on optimizing the display effect for the Mate 40 series. Ironically, instead of enjoying any new element, Huawei Mate 40 Pro users are puzzled by display issues.

Huawei Mate 40 Pro display issues

Suggested steps to take for such issues

Though Huawei hasn’t commented anything on this matter so far. But other consumers started helping the needy ones with their suggestions:

  • Clean up the background applications and try to avoid multiple apps running in the background at the same time.
  • Clear the storage space and uninstall the applications that you do not use frequently.
  • Re-insert the memory card and check whether the problem still exists.
  • Change the unlock and screen settings

If we consider the company’s algorithms, then beta versions are not stable updates. Hence, the developers often warn the users before installing the new beta rollout as it might contain some bugs or defects.

So don’t worry. Huawei will soon roll out a stable and improved update for your Mate 40 Pro smartphone. Till then, tell us in the comment section whether you are going through the same issue or are busy dealing with some new puzzles of the HarmonyOS 3.0.0.126 update.
