We’ve entered the second month of this year and Huawei is still expanding January 2023 EMUI security update for the global P50 Pro. Meanwhile, the wait for EMUI 13 has now become unpredictable for the users.

Huaweiblog reports that Huawei is expanding the reach of the January 2023 software update for P50 Pro global users with EMUI version 12.0.1.290 and it comes with 358 megabytes of OTA package size. The upgrade will bring a new set of security patches for the smartphone.

Similar to the initial rollout, we’ve not noticed any new feature in the changelog. However, the main concern of Huawei smartphone users stands still as EMUI 13 because the phone will be the first to install new firmware.

But the fact is that Huawei has not yet published the EMUI 13 roadmap, which is splitting the views of Huawei smartphone owners.

EMUI 13 comes with a variety of new features that installs a brand new user experience for the consumers. Speaking of which, this software will let you grab a new smart folder with a variable layout, as well as service widgets group and stacking. On the other side, Huawei P50 Pro users will be able to use swipe-up gestures.

All of these features are exciting but we’re still bound to wait as there is no confirmation available on the next EMUI version.

You can download the latest software update via Settings > System & updates > then tap on Software update and follow the on-screen instructions. You can also request a new version via My Huawei app.

Huawei P60 series is approaching but on the sidelines, Huawei is also preparing for the Nova 20 devices and is testing it with a flagship Snapdragon 8 and a high-quality camera.

According to the input coming from a Weibo tipster, Digitalchatstation, Huawei is testing the Nova series with a high-frequency flagship Snapdragon 8 series chipset, although, the tipster has not revealed the name of the device but it’s likely to be the Nova 20 lineup.

Huawei Nova series represents somewhere above the mid-range tier but the Chinese tech maker launches these devices with top-notch specs such as superfast 100W charging technology. Aside from the testing, a past report reveals that Huawei Nova 20 Pro could use a low-frequency Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ chipset.

The tipster further suggests that the phone models also tested with 108MP high-quality cameras and 50MP main cameras. These are quite amazing unveilings as Huawei is using a 108MP camera in the Nova SE models, while the 50MP camera is used in the mainstream devices.

Other than these, there’s no additional information available about the specifications or the design of the Huawei Nova 20 series.

The Huawei Nova 9 and Nova 9 Pro also used the same processor. However, this time, the tech maker could ramp up efforts and include a new processor.

Huawei Nova 10 Pro features a triple camera system of 50 MP Ultra Vision Photography (f/1.8 aperture), 8 MP Ultra-Wide Marco Camera (f/2.2 aperture), and 2 MP Portrait Depth Camera (f/2.4 aperture).

While it uses a 60 MP Ultra-Wide Angle Autofocus Camera (f/2.4 aperture) + 8 MP Portrait Close-up Camera Camera (f/2.2 aperture) on the front side. Huawei Nova 10 series comes with a cylindrical design.

Aside from the security patch, Huawei’s top flagship smartphones are waiting for the EMUI 13 software update, which is packed with new features. However, Huawei has not released any information on this matter.

How to update:

Huawei P40 series and Mate 40 Pro users can download the latest software update by visiting the software update section, opening up Settings > tapping on System & update > clicking Software updates > and CHECK FOR UPDATES.

You should know that this update will not delete your personal data and we suggest that you back up all important data before updating.

If you face any issues during the update, call the Huawei customer hotline or visit a Huawei customer service center. The update package will be automatically deleted after the update is complete.

Huawei P40 and Mate 40 Pro are one of the last Huawei flagships to feature 5G functionality. These Huawei phones will have to wait just a little bit longer to get the latest EMUI version.
